3. Eat in accordance with the Season

one has to eat as per season and preferably the region. Mother Nature provides us with fruits and fresh vegetables to keep us cool and energized during the long, hot days of summer. In the fall and winter, the bounty consists of root vegetables, stored nuts, seeds, and fruits, heavier meats and cheeses, and stored grains to insulate us from the cold. In the damp days of spring, nature brings us berries, green leafy vegetables, and sprouts to cleanse us from the heavy and acidic winter diet. When we eat as much organic and local food as possible, and feast on seasonal, whole foods, our bodies naturally digest and assimilate nutrients. Assimilation in biology is the process by which living organisms convert food into vitamins, minerals, and other chemicals needed for the body to function

4. Move about after each meal (Short walks)

Short walks after each meal help to increase digestion. It is critical to stroll after lunch, preferably for 10 to 20 minutes at a moderate pace. If feasible, rest on your left side for 10 minutes after walking to help digestion.

5. Set aside five to ten minutes, or more, in the morning for solitude and relaxation

Mind-body therapies such as yoga, meditation, and Qigong cause the body to relax. This helps to reduce stress, which is one of the leading reasons for weight gain.

Qigong pronounced “chi gong,” was developed in China thousands of years ago. It is a part of traditional Chinese medicine. It involves optimizing energy within the body, mind, and spirit, to improve and maintain health and well-being using exercise.

6. Using our natural circadian Rhythm has a significant hormone-balancing effect.

Circadian rhythms are 24-hour cycles that are part of the body’s internal clock, running in the background to carry out essential functions and processes. One of the most important and well-known circadian rhythms is the sleep-wake cycle.

Our forefathers had no motive to stay up late at night, anthropologically speaking. When the sun went dark, they would have slowed down and perhaps lingered around a fire or a candle for a time before calling it a day. The screens we stare at late at night stimulate the brain, keeping us awake and wired when our bodies naturally want to wind down. Begin limiting your screen time two hours before bed. Before 10:00 p.m., when we acquire our second wind, go to bed. Getting seven to nine hours of sleep per night allows the body to reset for the next day and helps to lose weight naturally.

7. Try each of the six flavors.

We acknowledge six flavors in Ayurveda: sweet, sour, salty, pungent, bitter, and astringent. Make an effort to include all six tastes in your regular diet. Sweet, sour, and salty tastes are anabolic (building) in nature, and they require the pungent, bitter, and astringent tastes, which are catabolic (burning) in nature, to balance them out.

According to Ayurveda Rasa, the Sanskrit word for taste, has several potent meanings, among them: experience, enthusiasm, juice, plasma and essence. It is incredibly important to taste our foods, our herbs—our lives.
